King Power Stadium

Punter's Pick

With Leicester still unbeaten going into this game it is understandable why the markets have them placed as favourites. We feel the price offered by Bet365 for a Leicester victory is generous at 7/10 and should be backed. However it is likely to be a tight affair and under 3.5 goals should be backed at 1/2 given the aforementioned stat of five draws in six games between these two prior to last season.

Leicester City welcome Bournemouth to the King Power Stadium as two entertaining teams go head to head in what is expected to be an intriguing encounter. Both teams have made good starts to the season and with their manager’s known for their attacking styles, this could be one of the games of the weekend.

Leicester City come into this game unbeaten in the Premier League having secured impressive draws against last season’s surprise package Wolves and Europa League winners Chelsea. This was followed up by a tough 2-1 win away at Sheffield United courtesy of goals from Sheffield born Jamie Vardy and Harvey Barnes. Brendan Rodgers will be keen to build on this start in his first full season at the club. He will know it’s crucial to beat those in and around them in the table and maximise home advantage in their quest for a top six finish. The team also secured a penalty shootout win against fellow Premier League rivals Newcastle where Rodgers played a strong team – an indication that cup runs will also be prioritised. But protecting from burnout will be important and they could feel it against an industrious Bournemouth team on Saturday.

Bournemouth have achieved a win, draw and a loss over the course of their opening three games. A tough 1-1 draw against Sheffield United was followed up by a 2-1 win away at Aston Villa, with their only loss coming against champions Manchester City. Eddie Howe will be pleased to have started the season well but his main aim will be ensuring consistency over the season, which was a real issue for them last term. A lack of goals in the opening three games have also been apparent and the manager will need to ensure he sets up to allow the likes of Callum Wilson and Josh King to flourish.

In team news, Leicester will continue without inured duo Ben Chilwell and Wilfred Ndidi. Summer signing Dennis Praet is likely to be given another opportunity after his substitute appearance last time around with Jamie Vardy again expected to lead the line with James Maddison supplying the ammunition.

Bournemouth will again be without David Brooks and Junior Stanislas as well as Charlie Daniels who was stretchered off during the game against Manchester City. Ryan Fraser is likely to be the one to provide the creative spark for the likes of Josh King and Callum Wilson up front.

Games amongst these two have been tight affairs in recent years, with both recording home victories in the respective fixtures last season. Bournemouth drew first blood with a 4-2 home victory before Leicester won 2-0 at home courtesy of Wes Brown and Jamie Vardy. Before that, these two played out five draws in their last six games showing how closely matched they both are.
