Punter's Pick

Leicester are overwhelming favourites to win, so there may be more value in backing Fulham for a draw with a +1 handicap at 7/5. Both teams struggle to keep clean sheets, so a Leicester win with both teams to score at 12/5 appeals, again with Bet365.

Newly appointed managers Brendan Rodgers and Scott Parker go head to head, as struggling Leicester City play host to increasingly doomed Fulham.

New managers, same results?

Rodgers’ first official game in charge saw him oversee a last gasp defeat to Watford, as the Foxes conceded a 92nd minute winner to Andre Gray. The pattern of play was not too dissimilar to what had gone on under previous manager Claude Puel, with Leicester starting slowly and conceding early, before working their way back into the game. The new manager will be eager to finish the season on a positive note and build some momentum going into the next campaign, and will definitely want to eradicate bad habits such as conceding early and late goals.

Scott Parker’s Fulham fared little better against West London rivals Chelsea, also going down 2-1 at Craven Cottage. His side at least showed some character and fighting spirit as they fought back from a goal down before eventually succumbing to defeat against much superior opponents. With his side ten points from safety he is rightly already planning for next season should he remain in the job, and some positive results to finish the campaign on a high will give the team hope of a quick return to the Premier League next season.

Poor home form takes on even poorer away form

Despite the passionate support at the King Power Stadium, Leicester are struggling to find a way to win at home and lost more games (seven) than they have won at home (five) so far this season. Their current home form reads just one win in their last five home matches, which will be disappointing as that sequence has followed their spectacular victory over defending champions Manchester City.

However on paper, Fulham are probably the team you would like to play most when struggling for a result for home, so Brendan Rodgers could hardly have hand picked a better opponent to kick off his home tenure against. The Cottagers have won just two points on their travels this season, conceding a staggering 37 goals in the process from fifteen games.

Entertaining draw earlier this season

The two sides played out an entertaining 1-1 draw earlier this season at Craven Cottage, with Leicester’s find of the season James Maddison netting a second half equalizer to deny Claudio Ranieri a win against one of his former clubs. Only five of the Fulham team that started that day made the starting XI against Chelsea last time out, with the constant chopping and changing of formations and personnel perhaps being a fatal root cause of Fulham’s imminent demise from the Premier League.

Leicester to get back on track

Given Fulham’s dreadful away record, Leicester will be confident of getting back to winning ways quickly after slipping up at Watford and delivering the first three points of Rodger’s reign. Fulham at least did look more organised against Chelsea and will be keen to avoid another collapse away from home, but it promises to be another fruitless away day.
