Carrow Road

Punter's Pick

Despite Tottenham being heavy favourites, we believe there is still value in backing an outright Tottenham win with Bet365. Spurs are currently priced at 4/6 and that should be backed generously given the quality in their team and the form of their opponents who are the Premier League’s bottom side.We will increase the value of the bet by backing Harry Kane to score any time at 8/13 with the same bookmaker.

Norwich City welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Carrow Road in a battle between two teams that are fighting at opposite ends of the table. Norwich desperately need a win to keep their hopes of survival alive while Tottenham will be looking to keep pace in their quest for a top four finish.

Norwich City come into this game in dire form having not won in their last six league games and securing just one win in their last 11. This has left them planted firmly at the foot of the table, currently seven points from safety. Goals have been a real issue for the Canaries scoring just five goals in their last six games and Daniel Farke may have to dip into the January transfer market if they are to have any hopes of surviving. The team to their credit have managed to stay in games and compete right the way through, with their last four losses all coming by the odd goal. But this has been a pattern that has emerged throughout the season and the team have not been able to get enough support up to Teemu Pukki to be effective in front of goal. They did not manage to win any of the proverbial six-pointers against teams around them, with the 1-0 away loss at Aston Villa making it increasingly difficult for them to stay up.

Tottenham will be looking to put together back to back victories for the first time since the end of November with the team winning three and drawing three in their last six competitive fixtures. Jose Mourinho will know that improvements are needed as the side managed a smash and grab when they beat Wolves 2-1 away and then were comprehensively outplayed by his former club Chelsea. The team got back to winning ways against Brighton but not before they were given a scare, going down to a goal from Adam Webster. They managed to turn that result around through goals from Harry Kane and Dele Alli but the creative spark has not been there and Harry Kane looked jaded in his last game. It will be interesting to see if Mourinho dips into the transfer market in his attempt to deliver a top four finish in his first season in charge.

In team news Norwich remain without striker Josip Drmic and long-term injury victims Ben Godfrey and Timm Klose. Daniel Farke may have to tinker with his system in order to provide more support for Pukki as the team try and get their first win in six league games.

Tottenham are without the suspended trio of Son Heung-min, Moussa Sissoko and Harry Winks.Son was sent off for his petulant kick out at Antonio Rudiger and Sissoko and Winks both picked up bookings last time out rendering them ineligible for this one. Record signing Tanguy Ndombele had declared himself unfit last time out and it remains to be seen if he is available for selection this time around.

These two teams last played over three years ago in the 2015/16 season in which Tottenham won both games 3-0. Harry Kane bagged a brace in both games and the England man will be looking to repeat that feat this time around.
