Bramall Lane

Punter's Pick

Arsenal start this game as favourites but we still feel the price offered by Bet365 is generous at 10/11 for a Gunners victory. Given Arsenal’s form of five wins in their last six games in all competitions, a price close to evens represents excellent value. Both teams have also racked up the corners in recent games so backing over 10 corners at 8/11 is also a good bet.

Sheffield United welcome Arsenal to Bramall Lane on Monday night to finish off the latest round of Premier League games. Both teams sit at opposite ends of the table and the home side will be looking to get some daylight between themselves and the bottom three while Arsenal will want to tighten their grip on the Champions League places.

Sheffield United have proven difficult to beat since their promotion to the Premier League with the team mirroring their manager Chris Wilder in producing intense and passionate performances. Notable wins against Crystal Palace and Everton away shows they also have the quality to mix it with the established teams and this was further enhanced when they came from 2-0 down to get a draw away at Chelsea. But the team has only won one in their last five competitive games and their home form will be crucial if they are to stay up and the manager knows that they need to pick up points in these type of fixtures. But he will be confident that their combative style could produce a shock win as Arsenal certainly don’t like it when they are pressed hard, especially in defence, and the Blades have shown that they will run for 90 minutes which could help them in gaining all three points.

Despite some murmurings of discontent from fans this season, Arsenal have only lost one competitive game to league leaders Liverpool. They have won five and drawn three of their last eight fixtures and have made good progress in the League Cup and Champions League. A tough 1-0 victory over Bournemouth courtesy of David Luiz ensured they maintained third place prior to the international break and with some key personnel coming back from injury, Unai Emery will feel that his side can continue their charge for a top four finish. Much has been down to the form of striker Aubameyang who has seven goals in eight games and the manager will be looking for others to chip in and take the pressure off his star striker.

In team news, Sheffield United will be looking to assess the fitness of John Fleck, Oli McBurnie and David McGoldrick before making a call on the trio. McGoldrick has missed the last four games with a groin injury whilst McBurnie and Fleck withdrew from the Scotland squad with their respective injuries. Chris Wilder will also be checking to ensure some of his international stars report back fit and well with Republic of Ireland trio Enda Stevens, John Egan and Callum Robinson returning from international duty.

Arsenal will be boosted by the returns of Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney giving the manager plenty of options at the back. Alexandre Lacazette has also returned to training but this game may come too soon for him, with Saka and Pepe likely to partner Aubameyang in a front three. Matteo Guendouzi is likely to form the spine of a midfield trio which will most likely include captain Granit Xhaka and Lucas Toreiera. However with Arsenal likely to dominate the ball and needing to break Sheffield United down, Dani Ceballos could be in contention to provide the creative spark.
