Bramell Lane

Punter's Pick

Both these teams played out a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture and we feel this one could be equally as competitive. Bournemouth will look to keep it tight with Sheffield United struggling to score two or more goals in recent games. We therefore feel that the 8/13 offered by Bet365 on under 2.5 goals represents good value. Punters can certainly back this result and if there are no goals in the first half like last time, can cashout for a profit. One speculative punt that could be worth going for is Callum Wilson to score anytime, which is currently priced at 3/1.

Sheffield United welcome Bournemouth to Bramall Lane as both teams pursue their ambitions at opposite ends of the table. Sheffield United are a solitary point off a European place while Bournemouth sit just two points outside of the relegation zone. Will the Premier League new boys push Bournemouth a step closer to the Championship?

Sheffield United come into this game in good form having lost just one of their last six competitive games. That defeat was a tight 1-0 loss to champions Manchester City whom they held until the 73rd minute before Sergio Aguero struck. Most recently they have progressed in the FA Cup after defeating Millwall 2-0 and backed that up with a 1-0 away win at Crystal Palace courtesy of a Vincente Guaita own goal. Chris Wilder may be a little concerned at the lack of goals from his team but they are continuing to defy the odds and a solid defensive foundation has been the key to their success. The next set of fixtures are against teams in and around the relegation zone and a strong run here could really propel them into fifth place with Tottenham and Manchester United struggling for consistency.

Bournemouth have given themselves a lifeline in recent weeks after they were on a run of one win in 12 Premier League games. That included ten defeats and with injuries to a string of first team players, relegation almost seemed like a formality. However the team has rallied of late, picking up consecutive league victories over Brighton and Aston Villa. Both Harry Wilson and Callum Wilson got on the scoresheet in their win over Brighton with Philip Billing and Nathan Ake securing the points against Villa. Those results were huge as they took points off those around them in the bottom half and this will give the fans confidence that the team can go on and secure their Premier League status for another season.

In team news Sheffield United will be hoping that striker David McGoldrick will be available having missed their last four games with a foot injury. New signing Richario Zivkovic could be pushing for a starting berth whilst Sander Berge, a club record signing from Genk, should keep his place having impressed last time out.

Bournemouth will be without seven players due to injury with Arnaut Danjuma, David Brookes, Charlie Daniels, Jack Stacey, Joshua King, Chris Mepham and Lloyd Kelly all missing out. Jefferson Lerma will also sit this one out due to suspension.
