This is a game that has usually had goals, however with the issues surrounding the key strikers for both teams, this could be a more cagier affair. Bet365 are offering good value at 13/10 for under 2.5 goals, and if you wish to have a buffer, even under 3.5 goals at 8/15 is a good bet.

Bournemouth welcome fellow midtablers West Ham to The Vitality Stadium, with the home team desperately seeking a win having won just one game in their last nine outings in all competitions. West Ham will arrive in much better form, having won seven of their last ten games, including a 1-0 home victory against top four chasing Arsenal.

The Cherries have struggled to gain any consistency, despite starting the season strongly. It is in fact their early season form which has ensured they haven’t been dragged in to a relegation scrap, as two victories in fourteen games is the type of form which could have had Eddie Howe looking over his shoulder. Injuries to key players and rumours surrounding the future of star man Callum Wilson have also contributed.

West Ham on the other hand have had a real turnaround under Manuel Pellegrini. A poor start to the season saw them lose their opening three games, with the fans at times voicing their frustrations. But a notable win away at Everton changed fortunes, and The Hammers went on to beat the likes of Man United at home and the aforementioned victory over Arsenal last week.

Bournemouth come in to the game knowing their captain Simon Francis is out for up to nine months and Eddie Howe talked about how key personnel are carrying knocks and illnesses. Callum Wilson was missing last week for their cup game and Ryan Fraser was limping towards the end of the game. The Cherries may need to tighten up their play rather go with the expansive style they have been known for in order to get points on the board.

West Ham have their own transfer saga unfolding, with star striker Marko Arnautovic the subject of a mega money bid from China. He appeared to wave goodbye to the fans when substituted in the victory over Arsenal and it remains to be seen where his future lies. With so much of West Ham’s play being driven by the talismanic Austrian, the fans face a nervous wait to see how this one plays out. The Hammers however will be boosted by the return to full training of Javier Hernandez, who would be the obvious solution to their striker conundrum should Arnautovic decide to leave.

Bournemouth do have a decent record against The Hammers, having not lost in their last four meetings (2W 2D). The reverse fixture earlier in the season saw The Cherries come back from a goal down to win 2-1 away, and that will give them confidence going in to this fixture.
