In the betting markets, it is difficult to look past a Chelsea victory in this one, especially given Fulham’s plight. Bet365 are offering 8/15 for a Chelsea win which is decent value considering the strength of the Blues and the poor form of managerless Fulham. Odds of 13/10 for Chelsea to win in both halves also looks good as this should be a game which Chelsea dominate given their quality.

The second of three weekend derbies sees Fulham welcome fellow Londoners Chelsea to Craven Cottage, with the situation becoming increasingly desperate for the Cottagers. Fulham remain in 19th place but know that any run of winning games could give them a fighting chance of mounting a remarkable recovery. However with Chelsea still chasing a Champions League spot, this game will be crucial for both teams in their respective goals at opposite ends of the table.

This week saw Fulham make the decision to sack Claudio Ranieri. The title winning manager was relieved of his duties after the loss to Southampton after winning just three games in his tenure. Fans would have been hoping for the Italian to apply some of the magic which saw Leicester win the title under his stewardship, but a lack of quality and at times discipline saw the Italian given his marching order with ten games still to go. The team come in to this game on the back of eight defeats in nine games, with a solitary win coming against Brighton in that time.

Chelsea have had their own dramas in recent weeks after the Carabao Cup Final debacle when keeper Kepa refused to come off. Sarri responded by dropping his record signing and the team immediately improved by beating their top four rivals Tottenham 2-0. Eden Hazard and Pedro both shone in the game and the team showcased their mental strength in keeping their top four hopes alive.

Recent meetings between these two teams certainly won’t make happy reading for Fulham fans. They have been beaten by their London rivals in each of their previous four games and the game earlier in the season saw Chelsea win 2-0. Goals from Pedro and Ruben Loftus-Cheek were enough to secure three points, and with Chelsea looking composed again after a rocky period, they will be confident of making it five on the trot.

In team news, Fulham forward Andre Schurrle is unlikely to face his former club, for whom he scored a hattrick when facing Fulham. Long-term absentees Alfie Mawson and Marcus Bettinelli remain out.

Chelsea have no major injury concerns and the most interesting piece of team news will be whether Kepa is recalled back in to goal, or if Sarri opts to keep Willy Caballero who kept a clean sheet against Spurs.
